Let us give thanks...
Seeing it is thanksgiving in America, I think we should all think of one thing that we are thankful for. I am thankful for Daryl Katz. He is my employer if you will as he is my biggest client and if it was not for the Katz Group I would not enjoy the standard of living that I have at present. I am also thankful for Katz because he owns my favorite team that plays my most favorite sport. I am even more thankful that he owns the team because I know how he run his drug store chain and he will not stand for this terrible team that the management of the Oilers are running right now. He will be patient for a while, but if the Oilers continue their slide, his patience will run out. When that happens there will be huge changes and I imagine they will be for the better. So with that I say goodbye MacTavish - it has been fun. Thank you for the good years, I liked you better as a player than a coach. Thank you for the amazing 2006 playoff run where you out-coached the other coaches. Thank you for the very funny and intelligent sound bytes during the interviews - you make for an excellent quote.
But your time is done McBlender. Very soon we will see you depart as you have lost the room my friend. And when the coach loses the room his time starts to tick away. You will tell the fans and the media that "we are getting there" and you see the team "turning the corner," but we all know that when you do the same things, you will get the same results.
So....goodbye and good luck. I am sure another team will pick you up right away if you will have them and I am sure you will have success - it just will not be in Edmonton.
(Please note that as of 9:00 mountain time MacTavish has not been fired by the Edmonton Oilers - this is a prediction - Jay....chalk it up...if it does not happen today that is.)
